Monday Montage: Technical Know-How

I am currently in the works to move from WordPress.com to my own website. Wait… let me phrase that in a more truthful way… Chad is currently working on our website to move it over from WordPress. We are using the Wordpress software (I hope that is the correct way to say that) on our website though, so in all likelihood you won’t notice a difference, you won’t have to re-subscribe or re-follow… The only change is that it will be AWESOME! I am immensely excited that Chad is helping me with the format and technical side of the blog from now on. I am more than a little technologically challenged and WordPress had been wonderfully easy for me to use and grasp for the most part. Having my own site scares me a little… but I look forward to having a new updated look soon.

Onto a new topic, but really the same topic (me being technologically stunted that is), I have just rejoined Twitter and feel as though I am in a black hole most of the time while using it. So if I do something incorrectly, or am missing some sort of rule in twitter etiquette, feel free to let me know. Otherwise, I am off to research what it means to favorite a tweet, or when I should retweet, or how to amass a million twitter followers and travel for the rest of my life from all the wealth I make because everyone wants to read my tweets. Who knows… it could happen right?!  So, follow me on twitter and help me out with this difficult-for-me-to-understand social network.

Until then, the normal programming and format will continue… Here are some pictures I have taken this week. I am really slacking in this, so i have made a new goal to take three pictures a day at least. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I will remember…

This police box brought to you by The Pizza Company. Most of the police boxes here are supported by a chain restaurant... McDonalds, Burger King, etc.

A door in the urban jungle. I just thought this looked cool.

We visited the Walking Street in Phuket Town. More on this on Friday. I just figured I would share my really bad blurry photo from it to entice you. :)

Nai Harn Beach at sunset... No I do not know that couple in the picture, lets just pretend it's Chad and I.

  1. Good luck with the move! Moving to self-hosting scares me (and I don’t feel too motivated – except those times I see a cool plug-in I can’t use at wordpress.com).

I can’t help you too much with twitter as I feel like I’m still learning and I have way less than a million followers. But I am going with the philosophy of trying to tweet things i think people will enjoy (sounds obvious but I think sometimes it gets lost in all the “twitter gaming” people talk about). If you find anything useful, let me know. Or join pinterest and pin it to my brand new “blogging” board which I just created (I think I can invite other people to pin on my boards but haven’t had the chance to try it out yet 🙂 ).

  2. Good luck with self-hosting. We look forward to seeing the new format and the money-making schemes LOL! Seriously though, I’ve connected to you on Twitter. I just joined myself and I haven’t a clue really, but other bloggers are really helpful and are spreading the word around!
